The Ho West District Chief Executive has distributed 600 locally produced nose masks on 13th May, 2020 at the Kepdze Market to help prevent further spread of the corona virus. The distribution exercise was in line with the compulsory nose masks wearing directives by the President.
The Hon. District Chief Executive, Hon Victor Ernest Apau in a short address reiterated the continues practice of the safety protocols especially washing of hands with soap under running water and mandatory wearing of nose masks at public places to avoid contracting the corona virus.
He added that since some persons with the Corona virus may not have symptoms or may not know they are infected, everyone should wear nose masks in all public places. The District Environment Health and Sanitation Officer, Mrs Stella Kumadzro educated the traders on reasons why they must wear nose masks. After the education, the DCE lead the team to distribute the nose mask.
In attendance were the DCE, Togbe Eyuri III, Government Appointee, Hon Asem Wisdom Eli, Hon Gloria Fenu, District Environmental Health and Sanitation Office, District Information Officer and some staff of the Assembly.
The Ho West Assembly was established by the Legislative Instrument (LI) 2083 of 2012. It is the highest political and administrative authority in the District. The population of the District stood at 94,600 as shown in Table1 (2010 Population and Housing Census).
